Nashet cultural and social Association, Geneva call organization, and Palestinian Association for protection arranged a second session from the round table in the center of Nashet Association in Ain- El Helweh camp on January 28,2013.
The meeting was attended by all the forces and Palestinian organization of P.L.O, Alliance forces, the Islamic forces, representatives of the civil society and public committees. The program of the round table included the following headings:
1- Variations, differences, disputes, tensions their roles and effects in treating the urgent issues.
2- Permanent contact and communication among the active forces c the situation and necessity), and the possibility to produce a calm and progressive Palestinian pattern to deal with the people’s affairs.
3- The influx of the displaced people and the increase in the intensity of population and it’s role in increasing the social pressure, the necessity to protect the weakest groups, the conduct rules of fighters during tensions, safety, security and internal violence (the disorder of using weapons).
The sessions of the round table was moderated by colonel Maher Shabayta the secretary of FATEH Movement in Ain-El Helweh camp, sheikh Abu Sherif Akl the spokes man of Al Ansar league, and secretary of the public committee Mr. Abu Bassam Al Mekdah.
Many working papers were introduced during the session from:
1- Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas)
2- Al Jehad Islamic Movement
3- Liberation party
4- Ansar Allah Movement
5- Popular front for the liberation of Palestine
6- Democratic front
7- People’s party
8- Palestinian liberation front
9- Committee of Zakat and Alms (displaced people)
10- The public committee- said Area (displaced people)
11- The Palestinian Association for protection (protecting the weakest groups)
12- The women union (Donia Kayed)
The meeting was opened by Mr. Zafer Al Khatib the director of the administrative body who started his speech by welcoming the participants in the Round Table focusing on the importance of its convening at this time, promising to organize permanent dialogue sessions.
Then, Mr. Armin Koli the representative of Geneva Call organization started his talk by thanking the attendance and giving a brief explanation about the activities of Geneva call organization and its concern on the importance of respecting the weakest groups as well.
All the participants agreed on the importance of discussion among all the components of the Palestinian society as the main means to achieve understanding and cooperation, especially in front of the causes and factors that have severe effects on the Palestinian camps in Lebanon. However, there are many situations and dangers that threaten the existence of the camps accordingly, all the components of the Palestinian society should cooperate in order to organize the situations and take the necessary steps to improve the life conditions such as:
1- Maintaining and activating the follow up board because of its positive role in curbing tensions and addressing problems.
2- Working for a unified public committee to engulf all the Palestinian political forces and the components of the civil society.
3- Activating neighborhood committees.
4- Forming a committee for the displaced people.
5- Activating the decision of the follow up board to form a security committee.
