Jerusalem Cakes Festival in Ein El Helweh
In an atmosphere packed with hope for a better future and a future in which greater reliance is placed on Palestinian capabilities to achieve Palestinian development, the Women’s’ Cooperative Society, which is affiliated with Nashet Association, organized the Jerusalem Cakes Festival in Ain el-Hilweh camp. During which there was a display of the 500 pieces of Jerusalemite cakes made in a specialized lab by women from the camp. This event was with the participation of the Return Generation scouts’ band and volunteers from Nashet’s The Flame Youth team. This was in coordination with the Committee of Al-Zayeb neighborhood and the Capital City of the Diaspora website.
It is worth mentioning that the women who worked in the production of Jerusalem cakes had been trained to produce Jerusalem cake. They also participated in the implementation of experiments over a month under the supervision of the Jerusalem expert, Mr. Ghaleb Alseneya within the framework of the work plan of Women’s Cooperative Society which is implemented with the support of the Norwegian Embassy in Beirut. What’s remarkable was the turnout to buy the Cakes. The profit will be paid back to the women who worked in the project.
