Nashet Arranges a Voluntary Day in Solidarity with Al Yarmouk Camp and in the memory of the Martyrs of April 23rd

The Socio- Cultural Nashet Association and the Team Torch Youth Activist arranged a volunteer day in Solidarity with the people of Al Yarmouk camp and to commemorate the 46th Anniversary of April 23rd (April 23, 1969). Tens of Volunteers from Nashet Association with its various programs participated in this day which was dedicated to cleaning April Martyrs cemetery in UNRWA gathered schools- Ain El- Hilweh.
The activity started with a sit- in in front of the center of Nashet Association in Ain El- Hilweh camp with a distinctive and outstanding participation from the scouts of Beit- Al Makdes that is related to Islamic Jihad . In the activity , slogans of solidarity with Al Yarmouk Camp were raised condemning the massacres occurred against the people of the camp. The Palestinians flags and the slogan of Nashet Association were raised as well. Later, the participants led by Brigadier Maher Shabayta, the Secretary of PLO and Mr. Zafer Al Khatib, the general director of Nashet Association headed towards the cemetery where Brother Abu Al Tahir had a speech in which he thanked the initiative of the socio- cultural Nashet Association and saluted the efforts of its staff and volunteers in serving the Palestinian community. Then, he touched on the conditions of Al Yarmouk camp and the situations of the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon calling to find national solutions in order to preserve the interests and rights of the people without affecting the position of not engaging in regional and internal political disputes.

This activity, which has lasted for about three hours, has been covered by the Media now, the cemetery is being equipped to receive the visitors during the Memorial day of the current April, 23rd.
